Artist Details


Painter and photographer Lia Halloran was born in 1977 in Chicago, IL. She received her BFA from the University of California in 1999 and her MFA in Painting and Printmaking from Yale University in 2001. Halloran has been the subject of various solo exhibitions, including at Cahill Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics, Pasadena, CA (2016); Schneider Museum, University of Southern Oregon, Ashland, OR (2019); Flatiron Institute, New York, NY (2020); and xploratorium, San Francisco, CA (2022). She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including SHAZAM!, Contemporary Artists and the Influence of Comics, Baltimore Institute, Baltimore, MD (2004); Haunted: Contemporary Photography / Video / Performance, Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Bilbao, Spain (2010); Going Public, Norton Museum of Art, Palm Beach, FL (2019); and Art and Hope, University of Southern California Fisher Museum, Los Angeles, CA (2021). Halloran currently lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
