Artist Details

Biography

Painter Laurie Hogin was born in 1963 in Chicago, IL. She received her BFA from Cornell University in 1985 and her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1989. She has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including at the Mint Museum of Art, Charlotte, NC (1992); Montalvo Center for the Arts, Saratoga, CA (2004); Riverside Art Museum, Riverside, CA (2007); and Bradley University, Peoria, IL (2010). She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Grounded, Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL (1991); Terrors and Wonders: Monsters in Contemporary Art,DeCordova Museum, Lincoln, MA (2001); New Print Exhibition, International Print Center of New York, NY (2007); and Animatopoeia; A Most Peculiar Postmodern Bestiary, Cleveland State University, Cleveland, OH (2013).
