Artist Details
Lauren Henkin was born in Washington, DC. She received a BFA in Architecture from Washington University in 1996. Henkin has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including at the Newspace Center for Photography, Portland, OR (2011); Birmingham Museum of Art, Birmingham, AL (2016-17); and Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (2019-20). She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Anthology 2010, Southeast Museum of Photography, Daytona Beach, FL (2009); Callahan to Warhol: New Photography Acquisitions, Portland Art Museum, Portland, OR (2014); Complex Uncertainties: Artists in Postwar America, Telfair Museum of Art, Savannah, GA (2017-18); Documenting the Rural South, The Columbus Museum, Columbus, GA (2017-18); and Southbound: Photographs of and About the New South, LSU Museum of Art, Baton Rouge, LA (2020-21). Henkin currently lives and works in Maine.
