Laurel Garcia Colvin received her BFA in 1978 and her MFA in 1984, both from University of Texas in Austin, TX. She has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including at The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, New York, NY (2001); Brownson Gallery, Manhattanville College, Purchase, NY (2007); The Saratoga Arts Center Gallery, Saratoga Springs, NY (2014); and Chappaqua Library Gallery, Chappaqua, NY (2018). Colvin has also participated in many group exhibitions, including The Human Presence: Interpretations, Westchester Arts Council, White Plains, NY (2002); Real to Unreal, The Hammond Museum, North Salem, NY (2004); Retrospective Part 11: 2005-2014, Center for the Digital Arts, Peekskill, NY (2014); Still They Persist: Protest Art from the 2017 Women’s Marches, Wave Pool, Cincinnati, OH; Lexington Art League, Lexington, KY; Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (2017-18); and Among Friends, Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural & Education Center Gallery, New York City, NY (2019).
