Keith Haring was born in 1958 in Reading, PA. he studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York, NY. He has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, Pittsburgh, PA (1978); The Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, DC (1991); Berlin Ludwig Forum, Aachen, Germany (2000); Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (2011); and The Broad, Los Angeles, CA (2023). Haring has also participated in several group exhibitions, including Events: Fashion Moda, The New Museum, New York, NY (1980); Art in the Age of AIDS, National Gallery of Australia, Parkes, Australia (1994); Personal Jesus…: The Religious Art of Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, The Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh, PA (2007); Fast forward: Painting from the 1980s, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY (2017); and Basquiat × Warhol. Painting four hands, Fondation Louis Vuitton, Paris, France (2023). Haring died in 1990 in New York, NY.
