Kader Attia | Contemporary Arts Center

Kader Attia was born in 1970 in Seine-Saint-Denis, France. Attia graduated from Ecole nationale superieure des arts decoratifs in 1998 in Paris, France. He has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including La Piste d’Atterrissage, Centre National de la Photographie, Paris, France (2000); Momentum 9, Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, MA (2007); Kader Attia, MCA Sydney, Sydney, Australia (2017); and Kader Attia: On Silence, Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, Ar-Rayyan, Qatar (2021). Attia has also participated in multiple group exhibitions, including L’état des choses, Institut for Contemporary Art, Berlin, Germany (2001); French Window, Mori Museum, Tokyo, Japan (2011); The Fabric of Felicity, Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, Moscow, Russia (2019); and Bauhaus Imaginista, Goethe Institute Kolkata, Kolkata, India (2021). Attia currently lives and works between Berlin, Germany and Paris, France.
