Painter Julio de Diego was born in 1900 in Spain. He has been the subject of various solo exhibitions, including at the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL (1935); The Carnegie Institute, Philadelphia, PA (1959); and Woodstock Artists Association, Woodstock, NY (1977). He has also participated in many group exhibitions, including at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY (1946 and 1952); Pasadena Museum, Pasadena, CA (1959); Hirschorn Museum & Sculpture Garden, Washington, DC (1987); and Museum of Contemporary Hispanic Art, New York, NY (1988). de Diego died in 1979 in Sarasota, FL.
