Poet and performance artist John Giorno was born in 1936 in New York, NY. He graduated in 1958 from Columbia University. He has exhibited in many institutions, including at the Musée d´art Moderne et Contemporain, Geneva, Switzerland (2003); Centre National de l’Estampe de l’Art Imprimé, Chatou, France; Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (both 2004); Georges Pompidou Center, Paris, France (2008); and Artists Space, New York, NY (2010). Giorno died in 2019 in New York, NY.
