John Bock | Contemporary Arts Center

Multidisciplinary artist John Bock was born in 1965 in Schenefeld, Germany. Bock's work has been featured in many exhibitions, including at Deutsche Guggenheim, Berlin, Germany; Institute of Contemporary Arts, London, UK (2004); and House of World Culture, Berlin, Germany (2009). Bock currently lives and works in Berlin, Germany.

This exhibition brings together an international coterie of artists and academics that enlist this untamed, “wild” other as partners in the production of art. From Florentine architecture and Mannerist painting to Hollywood film, Japanese anime, and the impossible bodies of video game fantasy, Julien Nguyen builds hybrid histories to pose contemporary queries.
