Joanna Beall was born in 1935 in Chicago, IL. She received a BFA in 1957 from Yale University in New Haven, CT and a BFA in 1958 from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in Chicago, IL. She has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including at Hyde Park Art Center, Chicago, IL (1958); Gallery Rebecca Cooper, Washington, D.C. (1975); and Venus Over Manhattan, New York, NY (2021). Beall has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including at New Britain Museum of American Art, New Britain, CT (1968); Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY (1973); Boulder Visual Arts Gallery, Boulder, CO (1980); and Palmer Museum of Art, University Park, PA (2004). Beall died in 1997 in Connecticut.
