Artist Details
Jim Hodges was born in 1957 in Spokane, WA. He received his BFA from Fort Wright College in 1980 and his MFA from Pratt Institute in 1986. Hodges has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including at the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson, NY (1995); The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas City, MO (1998); Hirschhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, DC (2005); and Columbus Museum of Art, Columbus, OH (2019). He has participated in many group exhibitions, including Selections/Spring ‘93, The Drawing Center, New York, NY (1993); Of the Moment: Contemporary Art from the Permanent Collection, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco, CA (2000); I Am Still Alive: Politics and Everyday Life in Contemporary Drawing, The Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY (2011); and Forest of Dreams: Contemporary Tree Sculpture, Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, Grand Rapids, MI (2023). Hodges currently lives and works in New York, NY.
