Artist Details
Janet Biggs was born in 1959 in Harrisburg, PA. She attended Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, PA and Rhod Island School of Design in Providence, RI. Biggs has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including Janet Biggs: Flight, Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (2000); Arctic Trilogy, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, DC (2012); and CERN-IARI Collaboration, Spencer Museum of Art, Lawrence, KS (2022). She has also participated in many group exhibitions, including Regional Identity and Cartography Representation, Pigorini Museum, Rome, Italy (1994); Object Lessons: Selections from the Robert J. Shiffler Foundation, Columbus Museum of Art, Columbus, OH (2000); Motopoétique, Musée d'art contemporain de Lyon, Lyon, France (2014); and The Green Path, Museum of Fishery and Shipbuilding of Fishery Boats, Perama, Greece (2021). Biggs currently lives and works in New York, NY.
