Sculptor Jacob Epstein was born in 1880 in New York, NY. He studied at the Art Students League in New York, NY. He has been the subject of various solo exhibitions, including at The Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, DC (1973). He has also participated in many group exhibitions, including The Uncanny: Experiments in Cyborg Culture, Vancouver Art Gallery, Vancouver, Canada (2002); Head to Head, Tate Modern, London, UK (2004); Modern Britain 1900-1960, National Gallery of Victoria International, Melbourne, Australia (2007); and Against Nature: The hybrid forms of modern sculpture, Henry Moore Institute, Leeds, UK (2008). Epstein died in 1959 in London, UK.
