Artist Details
Ecological artist, educator, and writer Jackie Brookner was born in 1945 in Providence, RI. She received her BA from Wellesley College in Wellesley, MA. She has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including at McKissick Museum, Columbia, SC (1994); The Columbus Museum, Columbus, GA (1995); and Centre d’Estudio d’Art Contemporanó; Barcelona, Spain (1997). Brookner has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Ecovention, Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinati, OH (2002); Vedenkeirto/Waterways Halikonlahti Green Art II, Salo Art Museum, Salo, Finland (2008); and Organic Sculpture/Biomorphic Forms, Hans Arp in Dialogue with Contemporary Artistic Postions, Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck,” Remagen, Germany (2011). Brookner died in 2015 in New York, NY.
