Artist Details

Biography

Portrait painter Herbert Abrams was born in 1921 in Greenfield, MA. He received a degree from the the Pratt Institute, New York, NY in 1953. Abrams is known for painting the Official White House portraits for Presidents Jimmy Carter and George H. W. Bush, as well as other famous figures such as playwright Arthur Miller and astronaut Buzz Aldrin.

Abrams died in 2003 in Kent, CT.
