Artist Details

Biography

Heike Baranowsky was born in 1966 in Augsburg, Germany. She received an MFA in 1999 from MA Royal College of Art in London, UK. Baranowsky has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including Video Works by Heike Baranowsky, Singapore Art Museum, Singapore (2000); Panorámica, Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo, Mexico City, Mexico (2005); Time Traps, Lentos Museum, Linz, Austria (2013); and Kvikvi, LÁ Art Museum, Hveragerði, Iceland (2016). She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Limitless Berlin in Moscow, Contemporary Art Center, Moscow, Russia (1996); Art in Technological Times, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco, CA (2001); Loop, Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (2002); and A PARADISE BUILT IN HELL, Kunstverein Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany (2014). Baranowsky is currently a Professor of Fine Arts at Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg, Germany.
