Multidisciplinary artist Heide Fasnacht was born in 1951 in Cleveland, OH. She received her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and her MFA from New York University. She has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including at the Institute for Art and Urban Resources, P.S. 1, Long Island City, NY (1979); Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, Winston-Salem, NC (1999); Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA (2004); and Martin Art Gallery, Muhlenberg College, Allentown, PA (2019-20). She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Breaking Ground: Contemporary Women Sculptors, Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (1987); Picasso to Christo: The Evolution of a Collection, Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Santa Barbara, CA (1994); Recent Acquisitions: Prints and Drawings from Durer to Doig, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philadelphia, PA (2006); and Bold Expressions: Geometric Abstractions from the Collection, Weatherspoon Art Museum, Greensboro, NC (2020).
