Artist Details
Harlan Butt was born in 1950. He received a BFA in 1972 in Metalsmithing and an MFA in Metalsmithing in 1974. Butt has been the subject of various solo exhibitions, including at Metal Museum, Memphis, TN (2002); University of North Texas, Denton, TX (2012, 2016); and Nixon Center for the Arts, Newnan, GA (2017). He has also participated in many group exhibitions, including Enamelling Artist and Designer Exhibition, Insa Art Center, Seoul, Korea (2012); Texas Metalsmith: Ana Lopez & Harlan W. Butt, Georgetown Art Center, Georgetown, TX (2016); Craft Texas, Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, TX (2019); and Assamblage-National Jewelry Association, Bucharest Cultural Center, Bucharest, Romania (2020). Butt currently lives and works in Denton, TX.
