Biography

The Guerrilla Girls is an anonymous arts activism organization founded in 1985. They have been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including Guerrilla Girls Review the Whitney, The Clocktower, New York, NY (1987); Guerrilla Girls: Graphic Activism, Kingsborough Art Gallery, Brooklyn, NY (2005); Guerrilla Girls, GDM Gallery, Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2013); and Girlfriends of the Guerrilla Girls, CoCA, Seattle, WA (2019). They have also participated in various group exhibitions, including Temporarily Possessed: The Semi-Permanent Collection, The New Museum, New York, NY (1995); Image, Contemporary Art and Ideology, Museum of Contemporary Art, Barcelona, Spain (2001); Contemporary Art from the Collection, Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY (2011); and America: Between Dreams and Realities, Selections from the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, Québec City, Canada (2022).
