Glenn Brown was born in 1966 in Northumberland, UK. He graduated in 1988 from Bath College of Higher Education in Bath, UK and from Goldsmiths College in 1992 in London, UK. Brown has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including at Tate Gallery, London, UK (2001); Ludwig Museum, Budapest, Hungary (2010); Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (2017); The British Museum, London, UK (2018); and The Brown Collection (2024). He has also participated in several group exhibitions, including Brilliant! New Art From London, Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, MN (1996); Ecstasy: In and About Altered States, Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, CA (2006); Riotous Baroque: From Cattelan to Zurbarán, Guggenheim Bilbao, Bilbao, UK (2013); and Les Choses (Things: A History of Still Life), Louvre Museum, Paris, France (2023). Brown currently lives and works between London and Suffolk, UK.
