Artist Details
Giorgio de Chirico was born in 1888 in Volos, Greece. He studied at Athens Polytechnic in Athens, Greece and the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, Germany. He has been the subject of various solo exhibitions, including at The Casa d'Arte Bragaglia, Rome, Italy (1918-19); Philidelphia Museum of Art, Philidelphia, PA (2002-03); and Musée d’Art moderne de la Ville de Paris, Paris, France (2009). He has also participated in many group exhibitions, including at Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY (1955); Academy des Beaux Arts, Paris, France (1974); Musée Marmottan, Paris, France (1975); and Palazzo Strozzi, Florence, Italy (2010). de Chirico died in 1978 in Rome, Italy.
