Gerry Bergstein was born in 1945. He received a BFA in Painting in 1969 and an MFA in Painting in 1971, both from The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA. He has been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions, including at University Art Galleries at Wright State University, Dayton, OH (1984); The Danforth Museum, Framingham, MA (2009); and Catamount Arts, St. Johnsbury, VT (2018). He has also participated in many group exhibitions, including Art of the State, Boston University, Boston, MA (1978); Expressionism in Boston: 1945-1985, Decordova Museum, Lincoln, MA (1986); Satellite Intelligence, La Jolla Art Museum, La Jolla, CA and MIT List Visual Arts Center, Cambridge, MA (1990); and Seeing Is Believing, New Britain Museum of American Art, New Britain, CT (2004).
