Georges Braque was born in 1882 in Argenteuil, France. He studied at École supérieure d'art et design Le Havre-Rouen from 1897-99. Recent exhibitions include The Expansion of Cubism, 1911-1920, Portland Museum of Art Museum, Portland, ME (2019); Drawn: From the Collection of Jack Shear, The Blanton Museum of Art, Austin, TX (2021); Painters of the Sacred Heart, Museum Frieder Burda, Baden-Baden, Germany (2022); and Pour, Tear, Carve, The Phillips Collection, Washington, DC (2023). Braque died in 1963 in Paris, France.
