Artist Details
George Grosz was born in 1893 in Berlin, Germany. From 1909 to 1911 he attended Dresden Academy of Fine Arts, and the Berlin College of Arts and Crafts from 1912 to 1917. His work has been shown at the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL (1938); Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY (1941); Denver Art Museum, Denver, CO (1944); Dallas Museum of Fine Art, Dallas, TX (1952); Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, NY (1980); Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, NY (2004); and Akademie der Künste, Berlin, Germany (2010). Grosz died in 1959 in Berlin, Germany.
