Musician and activist Fela Anikulap-Kuti was born in 1938 in Abeokuta, Nigeria. He began studying music in 1959 at the Trinity College of Music in London, UK. He is widely regarded for creating the genre of Afrobeat. Anikulap-Kuti died in 1997 in Lagos, Nigeria.
