Emily Prince de la Cruz was born in 1981 in Gold Run, CA. She received a BA from Stanford University, Stanford, CA in 2003 and an MFA from University of California: Berkeley, Berkeley, CA in 2008. She has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including The Birthday Project, Jack Hanley Gallery, San Francisco, CA (2004); American Servicemen and Women…, Saatchi Gallery, London, UK (2010); and Timelessly, Partisan Gallery, San Francisco, CA (2012). She has also been part of many group exhibitions, including The Bay Area Show, Art Institute of Detroit, Detroit, MI (2004); These Canyons, Berkeley Art Museum, Berkeley, CA (2008); Drawn from Photography, DePaul Museum, Chicago, IL (2012); and Face of Battle, Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, Washington D.C. (2017). Prince de la Cruz currently lives and works in Bolinas, CA.
