Biography
Emii Alrai was born in Blackpool, Scotland in 1993. She received a BA in 2016 and an MA in 2018, both from the University of Leeds. She has been the subject of various solo exhibitions, including at Jerwood Arts, London, UK (2021); Eastside Projects, Birmingham, UK (2022); and Into Nature Biennial, Drenthe, The Netherlands (2023). She has also participated in many group exhibitions, including Limbo Lambada, Hutt Collective, Nottingham, UK (2017); A Permanent Departure for Nostalgia: A rehearsal on legacy with Zaha Hadid, Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH; and Drawing Attention: Emerging Artists in Dialogue, British Museum, London, UK (both 2023). Alrai currently lives and works in Leeds, UK.
