Artist Details
Elise Ferguson was born in 1964 in Richmond, VA. She received a BFA in 1988 from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MFA in 1995 from the University of Illinois. She has been the subject of various solo exhibitions, including at the University Galleries, Illinois State University, Normal, IL (2003); and Barton Art Galleries, Barton College, Wilson NC (2017). She also has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Flora, Chicago Botanical Garden, Chicago, IL (1994); Yard, Socrates Sculpture Park, New York, NY (2003); Bunch Alliance and Dissolve, Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (2006); and Geometric Behavior, Ikast Kunstpakhuset, Ikast, Denmark (2018). Ferguson currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
