Edgar Degas

Biography

Edgar Degas was born in 1834 in Paris, France. He attended the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France. Degas's work has been shown at the Société Anonyme des Artistes, Paris, France (1874); The National Academy of Design, New York, NY (1986); The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, NY (1974-75); The National Gallery, London, UK (2004); and The National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, Australia (2009). Degas died in 1917 in Paris, France.
