Douglas Gordon was born in 1966 in Glasgow, UK. In 1988 he graduated from Glasgow School of Art and in 1990 he graduated from Slade School of Fine Art. Gordon has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including at the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Paris, France (1993); Moderna Museet, Stockholm, Sweden (1999); Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, DC (2004); Tate Modern, London, UK (2010); Art Sonje Center, Seoul, South Korea, (2017); and Dundee Contemporary Arts, Dundee, Scotland (2022). He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Information, Paisley Museum and Art Galleries, Paisley, UK (1989); Transitions, National Gallery for Foreign Art, Sofia, Bulgaria (1995); Cinema. Cinema, Stedlijk Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven, The Netherlands (1999); Loop. Back to the Beginning, Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (2002); Kaleidoscope: The Indivisible Present, Modern Art Oxford, Oxford, UK (2016); and Video at Large - Intimacy, Red Brick Museum, Beijing, China (2022). Gordon currently lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
