Painter and sculptor Dorothy Dehner was born in 1901 in Cleveland, OH. She studied at Skidmore College in Saratoga Spring, NY. Dehner has been the subject of various solo exhibitions, including at The Jewish Museum, New York, NY (1965); The Phillips Collection, Washington, DC (1990); and Katonah Museum of Art, West Chester County, NY (1993). She has participated in many group exhibitions, including at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY (1950); Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (1965); and Nassau County Museum of Art, Roslyn Harbor, NY (1988). Dehner died in 1994 in Manhattan, NY.
