Artist Details

Biography

Painter Don Eddy was born in 1944 in Long Beach, CA. He received his BFA in 1967 and his MFA in 1969, both from the University of Hawaii in Honolulu, Hawaii. Eddy has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including at Williams College Museum of Art, Williamstown, MA (1975); The Huntington Museum of Art, Huntington, WV (1996); and Museu Europeu d’Art Modern, Barcelona, Spain (2016). He has also participated in many group exhibitions, including Options '73, Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (1973); In Sharp Focus: Hyper Realism of the 70s and 80s, Nassau County Museum of Art, Roslyn, NY (1991); Hyperrealismes USA, 1965-75, Musee d’Art Moderne et Contemporain, Strasbourg, France (2003); Still Life: Capturing the Moment, Palm Springs Art Museum, Palm Desert, CA (2015); and The Cool and the Cold. Paintings from the USA and the USSR 1960 - 1990, Martin-Gropius Bau, Berlin, Germany (2020).
