Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster was born in 1965 in Strasbourg, France. She has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including at Tate Modern, London, UK (2008); Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, NY (2011); Museum of Modern Art, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2015); Museum of Art, Architecture, and Technology, Lisbon, Portugal (2017); and Serpentine South Gallery, London, UK (2022). She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Stage it! (Part II), Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, The Netherlands (2013); 1984-1999 La Décennie, Centre Pompidou-Metz, Metz, France; and M.2062 (la partie de l’opera), Fondation Louis Vuitton, Paris, France (both 2015).
