Artist Details
David Ellis was born in 1971 in North Carolina. He received his BFA in 1994 from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York, NY. Ellis has been the subject of various solo exhibitions, including at Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, GA (2006); Huntington Museum of Art, Huntington, WV (2008); and Amon Carter Museum of American Art, TX (2017). He has also participated in many group exhibitions, including Rappers Delight, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco, CA (2001); Beautiful Losers, Contemporary Art Center, Cincinnati, OH (2004); and Viva La Revolución, Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, CA (2010). Ellis currently lives and works in New York, NY.
