Artist Details

Biography

Dan Collins was born in 1953 in San Mateo, CA. He received a BFA in 1975 from University of California, an MA in 1976 from Stanford University, an MFA in 1984 from University of California, and a PhD in 2009 from Arizona State University. Collins has been the subject of various solo exhibitions, including at Universiti Art Museum, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang Malaysia (1988); Scottsdale Center for the Arts, Scottsdale, AZ (1990); Tucson Museum of Art, Tucson, AZ (2003); and Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ (2008). He has also participated in several group exhibitions, including Cabin, Tempe, Trailer, Los Angeles Institute of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, CA (1983); Mind Into Matter, Boston Computer Museum, Boston, MA (1999); Cultural Landscapes, Center for the Future, Slovenice, Czech Republic (2006); and New Media New Mexico, Center for the Arts, Hobbs, NM (2016). Collins currently lives and works in Arizona.
