Artist Details

Biography

Cliff Benjamin was born in 1955 in Berkeley, CA. He received a BFA in 1978 from Pitzer College in Claremont, CA and an MFA in 1980 from Tyler School of Art, Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. Benjamin has been the subject of various solo exhibitions, including at Gallerie Evan, Toronto, Canada (1987); the University of Arizona Art Museum, Tucson, AZ (1997); and Jason Vass Gallery, Los Angeles, CA (2019). He has also participated in many group exhibitions, including Tropical Topics, Monterey Peninsula Museum of Art, Monterey, CA (1988); The Return of the Cadavre Equis, The Drawing Center, New York, NY (1993); and 1st Surf and Ocean International Art Show, Art Box, Kabuki, HI (2018). Benjamin currently lives and works in Maui, HI.
