Cecily Brown was born in 1969 in London, UK. Brown has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including at Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, DC (2003); Museum of Contemporary Art, The Hague, Netherlands (2011); and The Drawing Center, New York, NY (2016). She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Great New York: New Art in New York Now, MoMA PS1, New York, NY (2000); Collection Platform 1: Circulation, Pinchuk Art Centre, Kiev, Ukraine (2011); and Reality: Modern and Contemporary British Painting, Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, Norwich, UK (2015).
