Artist Details
Cecilia Bengolea was born in 1979 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including Sylphides and Dub Love, Dia Art Foundation, Beacon, New York, NY (2017); The Dancing States of a Political Body, LOOP Festival, Barcelona, Spain (2020); and Animations in Water, Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao, Spain (2021). She has also participated in several group exhibitions, including In dialogue with Charles Atlas, Tate Modern, London, UK (2015); Favorite Positions, Louvre Museum, Paris, France (2019); Breaking Water, Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (2022); and Chrysalis: The Butterfly Dream, Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève, Genève, Switzerland (2023). Bengolea currently lives and works in Paris, France.
