Brandon Ballengée was born in 1974. He received his PhD in Transdisciplinary Art and Biology in 2014 from Plymouth University in Plymouth, UK. Ballengee has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including The Red Bloom and Brown Tide, Hillwood Art Museum, Brookville, NY (2001); Praeter Naturam, Centro d'Arte Contemporanea, Turin, Italy (2010); La Sang Noir, Museum of Fine Art, Tallahassee, FL (2019); and Danse Macabre, CAIRN Centre d'arte, Digne-les-Bains, France (2022). He also has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including The Artcard, Sharjah Art Museum, Sharjah, UAE (2005); Lost and Found: Louisiana’s Landscapes Revisited, Acadiana Center for the Arts, Lafayette, LA (2012); and Criss-Crossing Ecologies, Annatalo Art Centre, Helsinki, Finland (2020). Ballengée currently lives and works in Louisiana.
