Artist Details
Bo Bartlett was born in 1955 in Columbus, GA. He received a Certificate of Fine Arts in 1981 from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, PA and a Certificate of Filmmaking in 1986 from New York University in New York, NY. He has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including at Columbus Museum of Arts, Columbus, GA (1983); Ulrich Museum of Art, Wichita, KS (1996); Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Santa Barbara, CA (2004); and Museum of Contemporary Art, Jacksonville, GA (2023). Bartlett has also participated in various group exhibitions, including Cresson Show, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Philadelphia, PA (1981); Reality Bites: Realism in Contemporary Art, The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art and Design, Kansas City, MO (1996); The Philadelphia Story, Asheville Art Museum, Asheville, NC (2013); and Big Stories, Bo Bartlett Center, Columbus, GA (2023). Bartlett currently lives and works between Columbus, GA and Wheaton Island, ME.
