Artist Details

Biography

Bill Buchen was born in 1949. He is part of an artistic collaboration with Mary Buchen called Sonic Architecture. They have been included in various exhibitions including Sound Engine, Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (1989); Sounds Fun, Children’s Museum of Manhattan and Citicorp Center, New York, NY (1994); Wind Reeds, Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY (1999); and The Good Life: New Public Spaces for Recreation, Van Alen Institute, New York, NY (2006). Sonic Architecture has also been commissioned to create work for Candlestick State Recreation Area, San Francisco, CA (1988); University of Akron, OH (1992); and Hudson River Museum, Yonkers, NY (1999). Buchen currently lives and works in New York, NY.
