Bill Bollinger was born in 1939 in Brooklyn, NY. He has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including at West Bank Art Center, Minneapolis, MN (1975); Häusler Contemporary, Zürich, Switzerland (2008); and Kunstmuseum, Vaduz, Liechtenstein (2011, 2021). Bollinger has also participated in various group exhibitions, including Anti-Illusion: Procedures, Materials, The Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY (1969); Blue Chip, Das Kapital, Museum moderner Kunst Frankfurt am Main, Frankfurt, Germany (2007); and Serial Attitudes - Repetition as an artistic method since the 1960s, Hamburger Kunsthalle, Hamburg, Germany (2013). Bollinger died in 1988 in Pine Plains, NY.
