Biography
Andrea Canepa was born in 1980 in Lima, Peru. She received her BFA in 2006 and her MFA in 2008, both from the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia. Canepa has been the subject of severall solo exhibitions, including at the Laboratorio de Arte Joven, Murcia, Spain (2011); Museo de Teruel, Teruel, Spain (2015); Instituto Cultural Peruano Norteamericano, Lima, Peru (2019); and Michigan State Broad Museum, East Lansing, MI (2023). She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including More or Less, Museu da Ciência e da Indústria, Oporto, Portugal (2006); Colección DKV - Dibujos, Centro de Arte y Naturaleza, Huesca, Spain (2013); Working glass, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo en Vidrio de Alcorco, Madrid, Spain (2018); and A Permanent Nostalgia for Departure: A rehearsal on legacy with Zaha Hadid, Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (2023-24). Canepa currently lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
