Painter and sculptor André Derain was born in 1880 in Chatou, France. He attended the Académie Julian in Paris, France. His work can be found in several public collections, including Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Paris, France; National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, Australia; Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn, NY; Pushkin Museum, Moscow, Russia; and The Art Institute of Chicago, IL. Derain died in 1954 in Garches, France.
