Alice Aycock was born in 1946 in Harrisburg, PA. She received a BA from Douglass College, New Brunswick, NJ and an MA from Hunter College, New York, NY. Aycock has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including Studies For A Town, Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY (1977); Waltzing Matilda, Guild Hall Museum, East Hampton, NY (1997); and Alice Aycock: Selected Works 1971-2019, Sprengel Museum, Hannover, Germany (2019).
