Artist Details
Sculptor and land artist Alica Adams was born in 1930 in New York, NY. She received a BFA in Painting from Columbia University in New York, NY in 1953. She has presented site-specific works at Nassau County Museum of Fine Arts, Roslyn, NY (1977); Princeton University, Princeton, NJ (1980); Sarah Lawrence College, Bronxville, NY (1985); and Klosterruine, Berlin, Germany (2022). Adams has also participated in many group exhibitions, including Eccentric Abstractions, Fischback Gallery, New York, NY (1966); An International Survey of Recent Painting and Sculpture, Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY (1984); Decoys, Complexes and Triggers, Feminism and Land Art in the 1970’s, Sculpture Center, New York, NY (2008); and Making Knowing: Craft in Art, 1950-2019, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY (2019-21).
