Abraham Cruzvillegas was born in 1968 in Mexico City, Mexico. He graduated in 1990 from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in Mexico City, Mexico. He has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including at Museo Universitario de Ciencias y Arte, Mexico City, Mexico (2001); The New Museum, New York, NY (2011); Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam, Netherlands (2017); and Centre d’art contemporain, Amilly, France (2022). He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Todo Sereno, Instituto Francés de América Latina, Mexico City, Mexico (1991); Universal Experience: Art, Life and the Tourist’s Eye, Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Chicago, IL (2005); Repetition and Difference,The Jewish Museum, New York, NY (2015); and Futuros Abundantes, Centro de Creación Contemporánea de Andalucía, Córdoba, Spain (2022). Cruzvillegas currently lives and works in Mexico City, Mexico.
