Can you hear, smell or touch art? You can in the UnMuseum!
Creativity and curiosity for everyone.
The UnMuseum®, in the Sara M. and Patricia A. Vance Education Center, represents a groundbreaking concept in museum education for children, schools and families. Located on the sixth floor of the CAC, the UnMuseum is a gallery of interactive art designed to offer children and parents an enjoyable experience with the most innovative art of our time.As the CAC's Education Center, the UnMuseum goes far beyond your normal gallery guides and learning stations. Rather, the CAC commissions first-rate artists to create special exhibitions and works of art for young audiences.
The UnMuseum® presents a variety of programming to serve the needs of wide audiences including hands-on art projects, school tours, family days and exhibition opening parties. It is an experimental "classroom" where school groups can have a unique, multi-layered experience with art, led by a trained guide. It's an environment where children, parents or caregivers can share an enjoyable art experience together. And it's the only museum around that throws exhibition opening parties geared specifically toward families!
the UnMuseum® hosts the area's BIGGEST and BEST art-making space!
With materials and supplies, washing stations and counter space at varied heights--the UnMuseum's Art Lab is the perfect place to have art fun and leave the mess behind. Best of all, it's open and available during normal CAC hours. No schedules to remember, no extra fees, just visit the CAC and drop in! No wonder it was voted Cincinnati Magazine's "Best of the City" in Family Fun.
