I have the impression that the charge occurred very clearly in 2011, after a performance where I experienced an unexpected sense of modesty and felt that I had achieved a certain peace with my questioning of sexuality and gender. I have always felt very masculine and did not really view myself as a sexual being, and that has obviously marked my work so far. What partially helped me to resolve that obsession were my many encounters with queer artists. They helped me to understand and accept the fact that I am a bit queer myself and that it wasn’t necessary to focus on that in my work, so the transition took place quite naturally. Even if there remains, in my way of moving, something linked to sexuality, I really feel that I have moved on to something else. I am working on the multiple layers found in every human being."
