(New York Times) Jens Lekman: He’s Not So Silent, He’s Just Introspective

Posted July 24, 2006 in

A different kind of Swedish indie-rock singer-songwriter might have been joking. But Mr. Lekman is the kind of Swedish indie-rock singer-songwriter who doesn’t have to joke to be funny. His music lives in the same general neighborhood as the Magnetic Fields or Belle and Sebastian, which is another way of saying that his witty, self-pitying songs aren’t quite as glum as they might first seem.
